About

Maia Benaim is a graphic designer and art director from Venezuela. She does not have a Sofía Vergara accent, but does have a weakness for fried plantains and novelas.

‍In 7 years of freelancing, Maia has worked on campaigns for Yves Saint Laurent, Maybelline, L’ancome, Adidas, Urban Decay, Giorgio Armani, among other L’oreal brands creating branding, editorial, strategy, and art direction.

After working in Brooklyn for 4 years, she moved to Berlin and founded Blank Page Lab. She has been working remotely ever since, traveling extensively though the Americas, Europe, North Africa, The Middle East, and Asia, constantly seeking and creating new visual languages.

Her experiences working in NYC alongside her travels shaped her studio vision: the design calibre and expertise of an agency, coupled with the empathy, attention to detail, and vivid passion of a small studio.

In her practice, she combines precise graphic design principles with intriguing visual narratives, believing that the strongest brands are built with an understanding that good storytelling supersedes everything.

Today, Maia leads the studio with a clear vision, logic, and attention to new cross-cultural visual styles to design brands that are very much alive.

Passionate about typography and editorial design, intrigued by countless curiosities, and always grounded in the sweet spot where work becomes play.

Her works have been featured in Awwwards, Voyage LA magazine, CSS Winner (site of the day), Full Access NYC, Splash Magazine,  Dean’s List, Maxi Best of Design, Underground NYC, Design Ideas, and many whatsapp latin family groups.
